About me – Creating a Relationship

My name is Kara Bosshart and I am passionate about helping others create a lifestyle that brings them happiness, health and the ability to do all they want to do. My goal is to bring choices to the people I work with – those choices can be from what they eat to how they choose to be active. There is no perfect way to live your life – when you make choices that work for you it simply becomes who you are, what you do and how you live your life to the fullest.

I am happy to share that I am  married, the mother of three wonderful children and call Neuheim, Switzerland home. I am originally from the United States but have been living in Switzerland since 1995. My "sport career" started when I was 13 years old and my mother quit smoking and needed a jogging partner. She managed to keep off those unwanted "stopping smoking" pounds and I have been running ever since.

My career started when I became an Occupational Therapist. I decided to change careers and turn my hobbies that were focused on health and wellness into a profession. I have been doing personal training and working as a certified rehab trainer in Canton Zug since 2009.

I think it is great when someone is passionate about sports and bikes over mountain passes and runs marathons, but I think it is just as important that we make a point of incorporating sports into our everyday life. I want to ensure that activities like walking, running, biking and strength training become a part of your lifestyle and not something that is done for the short term. I can help you create a lifestyle that will be not only holistic but satisfying, fun and inclusive of a wide range of health and fitness related activities.

In addition to creating an active lifestyle it is important to make healthy eating choices a part of your everyday life as well. Eating has a huge social component that we should celebrate while at the same time being aware of what we eat without making it a chore. It is important to develop eating habits that are sustainable for the long term. Together we can develop a way for you to create an active healthy lifestyle that will accompany you for the rest of your life.

Our Bootcamp – Creating a Challenge

Bootcamp workouts are a great way to burn a lot of calories. They are very efficient as you work out your whole body in a short period of time. The exercises change regularly so you don't get bored, and it can be done anywhere with very little equipment. We will target all areas of fitness including cardio and muscular endurance, strength, agility, balance and flexibility. The challenge is to take your body to its limit – you work like crazy, you sweat like crazy, and best of all, you burn calories like crazy.

Join us once a week for a morning of pain – oops, I mean fun!

Nutritional Counseling

Nutritional counseling has been defined as the process of guiding a client toward a healthy nutrition lifestyle by meeting normal nutritional needs and solving problems that are barriers to change. There are three goals related to nutritional counseling. The first is to facilitate lifestyle awareness, the second is healthy lifestyle decision making and the ultimate goal is then to take appropriate action to obtain a healthier lifestyle and become self-sufficient. The following are components of nutritional counseling:

  • Lifestyle evaluation
  • Dietary assessment (including body measurements)
  • Setting short and long term goals
  • Creating grocery lists
  • Learning to read food labels
  • Understanding the food pyramids and the servings recommended
  • Menu planning

The lifestyle evaluation and interviews will give us stepping stones to begin a relationship that is based on communication and trust. This will enable us to develop a healthy nutrition lifestyle for you that can be maintained for a lifetime.
